As we started on the INAI project, I was a little apprehensive at the beginning as the timeline was short and this is the first time we were working with Frozen Iris. As it turned out, those apprehensions were misplaced and the end product was fantastic. It is not just about the end result, but also about how we got there. The process was systematic starting with a deep understanding of our motivations and ambitions with the center.

Once the leg work was done, the Frozen iris team laid out the frame work to evaluate the proposals that made it easy for my team members to go about in a disciplined way. This aspect is very important as everybody comes with their own thinking on such creative endeavours and it is very difficult to converge unless there is proper mechanism to guide everybody forward in the same path.

As is the case in any creative venture, we iterated lot more than we planned and had to take a few detours before arriving at the destination. The team was very patient and accommodative right through the whole journey. I would gladly recommend the Frozen Iris team for anybody embarking on a similar pursuit.

AI Index Report, ISB

Launched by SRITNE, at ISB, the first edition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Index report -2021 analyses and presents the data related to the growth of AI domain across sectors and geographies to aid researchers, policymakers and public in enhancing their understanding on the impact of AI, its adoption and the technological progress.

Objective & Challenges


The primary aim of the project is in condensing and displaying the information in a quickly accessible and easily digestable manner that can help enhance a clear understanding about the state of AI in the country. Also the book needs to function as a passage to the interactive data website.

Effective information heirarchy to easen the information assimilation for all mental models

Designed to prioritise recognition over recall, we employed layouts that are familiar to absorb and look back to again as readers are better at recognising things than they are at remembering them.

Content Development to package a holistic narrative

In order to make the AI Index Report consumable, we developed introductions & summaries and worked on unifying the entire narrative to achieve lexical, grammatical and semantic consistency.

Considerate placement of call to actions to support for seamless and instant switching Merge multiple sources of visual information whenever possible to avoid split attention effects.


With a complete editorial intervention via user-centric information design, content development and data visualisation, we produced a consumable, accessible and functional AI Index Report for the Indian School of Business.
