Guidelines

MentorCloud creates a space to nurture ideas and skills through mentorship.

A mentor forms connections with a mentee and vice a versa. People who seek to share or gain knowledge are a part of this community and they help each other evolve into better versions of themselves so they can win over their challenges with more ease

Typography

The Brand font is Manrope. It is an open-source modern sans-serif font family, designed by Mikhail Sharanda in 2018.

Headings

Manrope aspires to be the perfect moderntypeface and is described as a crossover of various styles: ‘semi-condensed,semi-rounded, semi-geometric, semi-din, semi-grotesque’.

Heading is three lines long & set in bold

This body text is 25% the point size of the H1, Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

Color

The new MentorCloud logo has dark and light type in three versions: full colored, black and white and monochrome. The Dark type of a version is suitable for lighter backgrounds whereas the Light type of a version is suitable for darker backgrounds.

Based on this a color Palette consisting of 2 primary colors and 5 secondary colors was developed for internal and external usage.

These are the dark and light types of the full colored version.

Secondary Colors

Our secondary palette contains a variety of colors to keep things fresh and interesting. We lean on these colors more frequently when brand awareness is high, or on our own properties where we control the surrounding environment.

Note: The Secondary colors should be used rarely and sparingly. Under nocircumstances should any of them become the predominant color.

MentorCloud can be seen taking 4 major roles when it comes to interacting withsomeone and hence the tone of voice can be classified into four main categories

Why?

MentorCloud as a platform is intuitive on several fronts. Even then, we need to make sure that there is constant customer support that helps remove any apprehensions or stumbling blocks during the launch and continued usage of the platform.
Also, "Excellent customer support/experience." is often quoted by the clients as the reason for partnering with MentorCloud. So, it is only prudent to build on this strength of ours.

How?

Never mince words when talking to the customers. Use descriptive language to reiterate how important it is forMentorCloud to hear from them. Try to convey feelings or excitement using exclamatory marks and powerful phrases.This will make them feel valued and heard.

Pitfall

Never use emoticons in a formal medium as they may come across as inappropriate cheerfulness.

Be a PartnerUnderstanding & Respectful

Why?

The vision of MentorCloud is to establish and sustain long term relationships with clients. And for that - MentorCloud has to be more than a vendor. It has to be a true partner to the clients on every front. Right from the overall vision to project-specific objectives, MentorCloud should come across as a highly flexible partner who respects decisions and apprehensions of the client at all times.

How?

Make sure the language is always suggestive and never pushy whenever persuasion is needed. Recommend options,but don’t showcase them as the only options. Be open even in language for more customization. Above all, use words that shows how MentorCloud respects every client’s autonomy and appreciates their uniqueness.

Make sure every medium of communication places emphasis on the pain points MentorCloud has been solving across different sectors, and on the relevance of our vision to impact millions of lives through mentorship. This helps the clients understand how their interests overlap with ours.

Pitfall

Don’t let the storytelling about the vision and pain points be too long, as a copy is not the right medium for long narratives. They are best used for videos and podcasts.

Be a StarAspiring & Assuring

Why?

MentorCloud has an ambitious vision - to create a community at the juncture of mentorship and technology. MentorCloud is a trailblazer and the voice must reflect this personality to make clients look up to us with trust and hope. Also, It takes a substantial amount of time, effort and money to invest in a platform such as MentorCloud. And like any worthwhile investment, cloud mentoring takes some time to yield visible dividends. They need an assuring voice to trust the process and keep going.

How?

Always use upbeat sentences across every medium. End every pain point with a solution. It’s like sowing and reaping optimism.

Bring the values derived by fellow users to the center stage while explaining a feature.

Fill FAQs with real quotes from fellow users who have faced and overcome similar issues.

Pitfall

Upbeat sentences should be in alignment with reality. There is a chance to fly off the handle, and it may come across as false promises. False promises are far worse than no promises at all.

Why?

In a world full of free e-books and open-source technical guidance, MentorCloud needs a compelling voice that establishes the irrefutability of the importance of mentoring. A voice that helps clients and end-users understand that "Mentorship can never become archaic

How?

By making MentorCloud’s passion contagious. Flood your blogs and resources with examples cited from stories and histories.

Pitfall

Don’t overdo it. The intended idea might get subsumed into metaphors and analogies.
